Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.
Police then found many other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials report early analysis show the liquid was likely human blood.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; officials are currently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they stated.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for information.
A high-ranking representative stated the attack rendered him speechless and required to be resolved quickly.
"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the killing of nine people by a assailant targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
